Welcome to the OFAAA website. The Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent (OFAAA) is appointed by the Health and Safety Authority to carry out the assessment and registration of Occupational First Aid training providers.

Key Dates for 2013

Invalid Records for learners awaiting FETAC certification

Instructors will be contacted 3 times by email for any learners that show up as invalid with FETAC.  If we don’t receive the requested information after the 3^rd email the learners will not receive their FETAC Occupational First Aid certificate.

1^st email – First notification regarding any new invalid records requesting clarification or proof of ID outlined within

2^nd email – Reminder about invalid records

3^rd email – Final reminder about invalid records

It is imperative we all work together to ensure that learners receive their FETAC certificates as soon as possible after the completion of any Occupational First Aid course.  Invalid records can slow this process down, especially if the requests for information for invalid records are ignored or forgotten.

For refresher courses the only learner results that are to be submitted to FETAC for certification are for those learners who have improved their grade from the 3-day or previous refresher courses (i.e. from Pass to a Merit).  You do not need to submit results for those learners who previously achieved the same or worse grade.

Tip:  Ask every learner what name they had on any previous FETAC certificates.  If learners want any changes to their name for the Occupational First Aid certificate they will need to supply you proof of name change before the end of the course (i.e. Marriage certificate, passport).

FETAC Key Dates 2012

May 25th - Final submission date to OFAAA for June certification period

July 15th - Certificates issued from FETAC to OFAAA for June certification period

Certificates will be dispatched late July

July 27th - Final submission date to OFAAA for August certification period

Aug 31st - Certificates issued from FETAC to OFAAA for August certification period

Certificates will be dispatched in early September

Sept 28th - Final submission date to OFAAA for October certification period

Oct 31st - Certificates issued from FETAC to OFAAA for October certification period

Certificates will be dispatched in early November

Nov 23rd - Final submission date to OFAAA for December certification period

Jan 4th 2013 - Issue of certificates from FETAC to OFAAA for December certification.

Certificates will be dispatched in early to mid January

All OFA Instructors and companies registered with OFAAA are requested to please check their Billing History as courses that remain unpaid will NOT BE SUBMITTED to FETAC for Certification.

All OFA courses must be registered online before a course is due to take place. Instructors can submit course information by firstly registering for an online account and then by logging and registering a course.  Please ensure all PPS numbers and dates of birth are correct. Candidates names should be entered as you wish them to appear on FETAC certificates. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE ON LINE  ON SUBMISSION OF RESULTS. Fetac certification fee is €20 plus an administrative charge of €8.26 plus VAT per candidate. This is an increase in FETAC certification. All credit cards are accepted and if you wish to make payment by Laser Card please contact us at 1890 223 223. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT RESULTS WILL NOT BE SUBMITTED TO FETAC FOR CERTIFICATION UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.

Instructors are required to use ONLY FETAC assessment marking sheets and ensure all paperwork is signed by instructor and external examiner. All course documentation should be held by the instructor for a minimum of 2 years. OFAAA are monitoring course paperwork on an ongoing basis.

KEY FETAC Dates 2012

FETAC has issued key dates for 2012 (available on www.fetac.ie The following arrangements have been made by OFAAA based on these dates:

1. INSTRUCTORS PLEASE NOTE- Results are not submitted for FETAC certification without payment . Instructors are requested to make payment by credit card on line as results are being submitted.
2. Please ensure all submissions on your account are paid otherwise results will NOT be submitted to FETAC.
3. There are a large number of invalid PPS numbers,Dates of Birth, and candidate names being submitted by instructors, please ensure the correct information is submitted to OFAAA.
4. When submitting candidate names for certification  please ensure that all spellings are confirmed with the learner prior to submission to OFAAA.

OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID LEVEL 6 INSTRUCTOR ASSESSMENTS ARE CARRIED OUT ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
